2020.02.25 Upcoming lectures at HDRI
This spring the lecture-series organised by the Hungarian Demographic Research Institute will include the presentation of Gunnar Andersson, the Professor in Demography and Head of the Stockholm University Demography Unit. All the upcoming lectures are located at KSH Árvay terem. All are welcome!
2020.02.24 Childbearing issues
A new study is published in the Demográfia English edition. Bernhard Riederer and Isabella Buber-Ennser examined the Regional context and realization of fertility intentions in Austria and Hungary, focusing on differences between capitals and other regions of the two countries.
2020.02.17 Demographic Portrait of Hungary '18
HDRI has recently launched the fourth edition of our three-yearly comprehensive report in English on the population changes in our country. This volume serves the same purpose as previous editions: to present scientifically grounded information and trends in a brief and concise manner, using figures and tables that will assist professionals and ’laymen’ alike.
2020.02.11 DGD annual conference
The German Society for Demography in collaboration with the Hungarian Demographic Research Institute is holding a conference on family and fertility issues and demographic developments and demographic behaviour since 1990, health and mortality improvements and deteriorations over the past decades in Central and Eastern Europe. The conference will take place at the TU Dresden between 11-13 March 2020. The HDRI delegates Zsolt Spéder director, Lívia Murinkó senior research fellow, Zsuzsanna Makay research fellow, and Lajos, Bálint senior research fellow to give lectures.
2019.10.22 Workshop on Ageing
The Lisboa University is hosting the 6th International Workshop on the Socio-Economics of Ageing, which is an international forum for the presentation and discussion of topics related with ageing, one of the most important social transformations of our times. Monostori, Judit is presenting her study on "Stability and change in the family structure of the elderly: the case of Hungary".
2019.10.22 5th GGP User Conference
The Generations and Gender Programme is to be held 24-25 October 2019 at the Paris School of Economics. Two of our researchers, Makay, Zsuzsanna and Murinkó, Lívia are giving valuable insights and offering their expertise on gender and marital issues.
